I would buy again September 6, 2010

I researched ABC watches to no end to make sure I got what I wanted. If this watch had a depth guage that worked to scuba dive depths, it would really be the perfect outdoor enthusiasts watch.
That said, I did buy the early s/n watch and as expected, had the typical problems. I bought it in November '08 and summer of '10 it started eating batteries every week or so. Luckily I saved my receipt. A week and a half after sending this watch in, a brand new unit was on my door, no questions asked from Suunto, not a dime out of pocket so congrats on the good customer service Suunto. Oh, my bezel fell off on a scuba dive too. I've had this watch to about 105' several times and no problems with that.
My band also broke after a year or so. $12 gets you a new one at any department store so no big deal.
For those of you that are looking for the perfect outdoor enthusiasts watch, check out the Citizen Aquamount. Out of production, but it has all that and a depth guage.
Storm alarm works great which is actually one of the biggest reasons I bought this watch. Tired of going to sleep under the stars to wake up in the rain without the tent set up.
Compass saved my butt in the fog while elk hunting in the cascades. I wouldn't call it a life saver, but at least I got to sleep in my tent that night.
Overall very happy with the watch while it worked and I'm excited to get a brand new watch two years after the fact.
As far as digital ABC watches go, it's either this or the Suunto Observer, or the ani-dig Tissot ABC Touch, or like I said, the Citizen Aquamount which I would probably try to buy first. My Core goes scuba diving, dirt biking, mountain biking, hunting, fishing, backpacking and overhauls my house and has held up pretty well. Overall a very good purchase.

I had been tracking this watch online for weeks, Amazon always had the best deal. (FYI)
I have had this watch for a few weeks now and have used it A LOT. The watch is obviously very black and it is large, however all the black subdues the size a little (in a good way). My wrist is only around 7" and I do not find the watch to be oversized or overbearing. In fact, this watch is very light and very comfortable, the band is very soft and pliable but durable.
After having the watch one day, I took it hiking up one of Colorado's many peaks over 14,000 feet. The watch worked great. I took me a couple hours to really get used to the menus and functions but it is very easy to work after you understand what you are doing. I have tested the Altimeter many times and it has usually been accurate with 0-10 feet in error. This "testing" has usually been over 30min car rides and some runs.
The altimeter seems to work fine. I really do not use it to much, I like to watch the graph change with the weather but the Altimeter is the main function I use.
The compass works nicely and allows for setting your local declination, so that is great! I have a Casio with a compass which I think is easier to calibrate than the Suunto, but the compass still works fine.
I would highly reccomend this watch to anyone considering a Suunto, or and ABC watch.

Great looking watch. The only complaint i have is the numbers are a little darker than i would expect in terms of contrast with the background. Also wished I had purchased a month later since the price went down about 20% on amazon since I bought it about a month ago.

I love this watch. This is the best watch I have ever had. I am currently deployed to the sand box in Afghanistan and I use this watch for everything. I especially like the temperature reading it's off by a few degrees because it also picks up your body temp. but if you know it's hot outside or cold you just adjust accordingly. The Storm Alarm is helpful too because it has helped many times when deciding if there is a storm coming. I like the stop watch functions the dual time I use a lot because my family is in the states. It may cost more than most casio watches that you can find at most stores but I have gotten more compliments from my two weeks of leave than any other watch I have ever owned. I have had fossil and even a Hugo Boss watch to wear with my suits and this is by far the best. This will be the last watch I ever buy. If you are looking for a good watch that you can wear with anything and the functionality that all men want, this watch is for you. I absolutely love this watch.
The only knock on this watch is that it has a battery and does not run like a citizen but with all the features who cares.
