how to fix it yourself October 30, 2009

Suunto strap is designed to fail and they rob you for the replacement band. Here is what I did, I crazy gluded the band back and apply a black strip of velcro in the back to give it more strength. Works perfect and the velcro is nice and fuzzy.

Even before I even put the band on my watch I could see that the band wanted to separate near the end of the band.
Now that I had the band on my watch for a little over a week, The way the excess band curls up like the tail on a Japaneese Akita, irritates me more than just the thought of buying such a piece of crap in the first place.
I wouldn't recomend this product to ANYONE. It's a total waste of money and any natural resources(if there are any in this product which I doubt)that went into producing this ......thing.

These leather straps are junk. They are a waste of money and time. I've had mine since July of '07 and the thing is already falling apart. Instead of making a solid leather strap, Suunto decided to add a little synthetic felt or whatever material, to the inside of the strap for comfort, which is cracking and coming apart. I would not recommend this item.
